Men's Swimming Picks up Win Against Stevenson on Friday

GRANTHAM, Pa.- The Immaculata men's swimming team split its two dual meets on Friday evening, earning an 80-50 win over Stevenson and suffering a 134-39 setback against host Messiah. The win over Stevenson helped the Macs improve on its one win during its inaugural season last year.

John Batley won a pair of races this week and touched the wall in 2:11.69 to win the 200-yard IM. The time is identical to his record setting time last week against Hood. He added another win after touching the wall in 59.64 to win the 100-yard backstroke.

David Crowell touched the wall in 12:52.03 to place fourth in the 1,000-yard freestyle. The time was a personal best for Crowell.

Connor Farrell placed second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.40. He also finished second in the 500-yard freestyle after finishing in 5:29.68  

Joseph Duddy earned a runner up finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.72. William Lorenzo took fourth place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a personal-best time of 1:33.42.

The men's relay teams each finished third as the 200 freestyle team recorded a 1:51.66 while the 200 medley relay team finished in 1:59.83.

Immaculata will return to Atlantic East action on Saturday, January 25th against Marymount for its regular season finale.
