FREDERICK, Md.- The Immaculata men's swimming team returned to the pool on Saturday afternoon for a non-conference meet against Hood. The Mighty Macs put together some strong performances but fell 114-51.
John Batley won the lone race for the Macs and touched the wall in 58.95 to win the 100-yard backstroke. He finished three seconds faster than the Hood competitor and was the fastest time he recorded this season in the event.
In the 1000-free, David Crowell registered a second-place finish with a time of 13:06.06. William Lorenzo placed second in 200-yard freestyle after touching the wall in 2:48.07.
In the 50-free, Joseph Duddy placed third with a season-best time of 26.18. Batley added a second place showing in the 200-yard IM by setting the school record with a time of 2:11.69.
Conor Farrell placed second in 100-yard butterfly with a time of 59.50 and added another second-place showing in the 500-yard freestyle.
Duddy and Lorenzo placed fourth and fifth in the 100-yard freestyle with times of 1:09 and 1:13 respectively.Crowell and Lorenzo rounded out the meet with fourth and fifth place finishes in the 100-yard breast stroke.
Immaculata will return to action on January 17 for a tri-meet against Messiah and Stevenson at Grantham, Pennsylvania.
