Mighty Macs Eliminate Wesley, Fall To Cabrini To End Run

RADNOR, Pa.- The No. 4 Immaculata baseball team gave an outstanding run in their pod of the Atlantic East Championships on Saturday as they defeated No. 6 Wesley, 23-6, to reach a winner-take-all game for the right to play No. 2 Gwynedd Mercy next weekend, but the Mighty Macs fell to No. 1 Cabrini, 9-5.

The Macs used the long ball again today, combining for seven home runs in the two games to build off of their record-setting nine home run game against Cabrini on Friday.  All told, the Mighty Macs scored 64 runs in the last four games.

The Mighty Macs finished the 2019 season at 22-17.

HOW IT HAPPENED

-The Mighty Macs then blew the game open in the sixth with seven runs to open up a 10-run lead.  The Macs loaded the bases for sophomore Ty Esenwein and he blasted a grand slam to left-center.  Junior Tyler Kmiec followed with a two-run double before a sacrifice fly by senior Tom Prato put it at 14-4
-Senior Connor Blesi added a two-run home run, van Meter hit another two-run double, and freshman Joey Sacco hit his first of two runs, this one a two run bomb to make it 20-4
