RADNOR, Pa.- The No. 4 Immaculata baseball team gave an outstanding run in their pod of the Atlantic East Championships on Saturday as they defeated No. 6 Wesley, 23-6, to reach a winner-take-all game for the right to play No. 2 Gwynedd Mercy next weekend, but the Mighty Macs fell to No. 1 Cabrini, 9-5.

The Macs used the long ball again today, combining for seven home runs in the two games to build off of their record-setting nine home run game against Cabrini on Friday. All told, the Mighty Macs scored 64 runs in the last four games.

The Mighty Macs finished the 2019 season at 22-17.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1
-The Mighty Macs raced out to a 7-0 lead through five innings on a two-run double from senior
Cameron Delisle in the first, a two-run home run by
Richard Fontanillas in the third, an RBI single by sophomore
Domenic Dellabarba, a double steal, and an RBI double by Zach van Meter in the fifth to give the big cushion
-Sophomore
Gabe Hollenbach avoided trouble early and kept Wesley off the scoreboard until the sixth when they scored four to make it a close contest again
-The Mighty Macs then blew the game open in the sixth with seven runs to open up a 10-run lead. The Macs loaded the bases for sophomore
Ty Esenwein and he blasted a grand slam to left-center. Junior
Tyler Kmiec followed with a two-run double before a sacrifice fly by senior
Tom Prato put it at 14-4
-Senior
Connor Blesi added a two-run home run, van Meter hit another two-run double, and freshman
Joey Sacco hit his first of two runs, this one a two run bomb to make it 20-4
-Wesley got a pair of runs in the eighth, but Sacco hit his second of the day, a three-run home run to left to get it to the final

-The Macs couldn't have gotten a better start as Sacco doubled, Kmiec walked, and Prato reached on an error, giving way to Fontanillas who blasted his sixth home run in the last four games with a grand slam to left and a 4-0 lead
-Senior
Zach Smiley got the start and threw well early, with three shutout frames, but the Cavaliers got him for three runs in the fourth to make it 4-3
-Delisle then hit a home run to centerfield to extend the lead, but the Cavaliers got to Smiley again in the fifth for six more and a 9-5 lead
-The Macs threatened once more in the eighth as they loaded the bases with one out, but a pair of strikeouts ended the threat
