ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.- After opening the season at Arcadia a week ago, the Immaculata women's swimming team was back in action at Elizabethtown on Saturday afternoon for a tri-meet with the Blue Jays and Goucher. Despite a number of strong performances that saw new records and personal bests set throughout the team, Immaculata fell to Elizabethtown and Goucher on Saturday afternoon.
Catherine Wiest got things off to a strong start for Immaculata with a third-place showing in the 1000-yard fee with a time of 13 minutes and 3.47 seconds. Wiest turned in another strong third-place showing in the 500 free with a time of 6:18.63 to lead the Macs in this event as well.
Additionally, Wiest teamed up with
Kate Angelichio,
Elizabeth Herlihey, and
Breanna Katz to set a new team record in the 200 free relay with a time of 2:02.55, which was also good enough for a third-place finish in this event.
Herlihey had a great afternoon as she turned in a pair of victories for the Mighty Macs capturing the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke with times of 1:06.20 and 1:16.07, respectively.

In the 200 free, Angelichio led the Macs with an eighth place finish in a time of 2:55.90 while
Cassandra Thiel was close behind with a ninth-place finish of her own in a time of 3:08.30. Angelichio also turned in a seventh-place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:17.05.
Maya Schilp turned in a strong performance of her own in the 50 free as she finished in eighth with time a of 32.06 seconds while Thiel was close behind with a 10
th place finish of her own in 41.06 seconds. Schilp also turned in strong performances in the 100 free and 100 back as she finished in ninth and seventh place in these events, respectively.
In the 200 IM, Katz finished in second with a time of 2:37.20 before turning in a fifth-place finish in the 100-fly with a time of 1:15.07.
Immaculata will be back in action on Saturday afternoon at Bryn Mawr for a tri-meet vs Bryn Mawr and Cedar Crest beginning at 1 p.m.
