GLENSIDE, Pa.-In its first meet of the new season, the Immaculata men's swimming team was back in the pool on Saturday afternoon at Arcadia in a tri-meet vs Arcadia and Wilkes. Immaculata fell to Arcadia by a final of 209-37 before falling to Wilkes 173-53.

The first event of the afternoon for the Mighty Macs was the 200 medley relay, which the team of John Batley, Jared Truett, Conor Farrell, and David Crowell placed fifth in with a time of 1 minute and 56.08 seconds. This relay combination also performed well in the 400-free relay as they finished in fifth with a time of 3:54.94.

Truett followed this up a short time later with a strong third-place showing in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:41.10, which allowed the freshman to earn a third-place finish. Truett also registered a strong time of 2:42.73 in the 200-yard breaststroke en route to a sixth place individual finish.

Farrell had a strong debut of his own highlighted by a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.10 while recording a fourth-place finish in the 200 Individual Medley (IM) with a time of 2:15.66.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Batley registered his first victory of the season with a time of 59.68 seconds. Batley followed this up with a second-place showing the 200 backstroke as he touched the wall in 2:10.17  to conclude a strong afternoon in the pool.
In his collegiate debut, William Lorenzo turned in a pair of strong performances in the 50 and 100 freestyles turning in times of 29.81 seconds and 1:12.36, respectively.

In the 100 breaststroke, Crowell registered a sixth place finish with a time of 1:16.48 before turning in another strong performance in the 500-free, which he ended with a time of 6:27.89.

Immaculata will be back in action next weekend at Elizabethtown for a tri-meet with the Blue Jays and Goucher beginning at 1 p.m.
