AUGUSTA, N.J.- The Immaculata baseball team earned a doubleheader sweep of Centenary (9-21, 3-13 CSAC) in their season finale on Saturday afternoon as the Macs ended their season with a three game winning streak. The Mighty Macs finished the season 13-19 overall and 8-8 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play which left them one game out of their fifth consecutive postseason appearance.
In game one, junior
Billy Manzo tossed a shutout and in game two, freshman Richard Fontanillas hit a home run and sophomore
Tyler Kmiec drove in four.
GAME 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Macs wasted no time getting going as Fontanillas doubled home senior
Justin Dempsey with a shot to right-center for the early lead
-Manzo was throwing well on the other side, keeping the Cyclones off the board through the first three innings
-Junior
Cameron Delisle added to the lead with an RBI double down the right field line, and freshman Greg Dahl followed with an RBI double of his own to center to score Delisle and put the Macs up 3-0
-Manzo again kept the Cyclones at bay with two more shutout frames to preserve the lead
-Senior
Pat Devenney hit an RBI single to right with the bases loaded in the sixth and Kmiec then hit a sacrifice fly to swell the lead to 5-0
-Fontanillas hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh to finish the scoring while Manzo polished off the shutout

HOW IT HAPPENED
-In game two, the Macs used a five-run second inning to take control. Devenney walked with the bases loaded, Kmiec unloaded a bases clearing triple to left for three runs, and Dempsey brought him home with a sacrifice fly for the five-run lead
-Sophomore
Timmy Newell got the start and allowed a pair of runs in the second and the fourth, but held onto the lead
-The Macs tacked on some insurance in the fourth as Dempsey hit his sacrifice fly of the game, and junior Connor Blesi hit an RBI triple before he came around to score on an error to put the Macs up 8-4
-Newell finished off his start with a shutout frame before giving way to sophomore Gabe Hollenbach for three shutout innings
-In the seventh, the Macs tacked on four more with a Blesi RBI single, Misialek RBI double, Devenney RBI groundout, and Kmiec RBI single
-Fontanillas hit the first home run of his career in the eighth with a solo shot to left
-The Cyclones tacked on two at the end against senior
Ryan Blough but that would be all in a 13-6 victory
