Dana Kershaw

After serving as an assistant coach for six years, Dana Kershaw was chosen to take over the Mighty Macs' men’s and women’s cross-country and track & field programs as head coach for the 2017-18 season.

For cross country in 2017, she led the Mighty Mac women to a Runner-Up finish in the CSAC including two Second Team All-CSAC runners in Paula Barrett and Emily Cardie, while the men placed eighth.  In total, 19 runners were recognized as part of the Fall CSAC All-Academic Team.

In 2018 in their first year in the Atlantic East Conference, the men placed seventh while the women finish in third behind Second Team All-Atlantic East performances by Celsey Golato and Mackenzie Greene.

The Mighty Macs competed in the top area indoor meets during the winter, and continued to do the same in the spring.  Under Kershaw, several of the relay school records were broken and she oversaw Xavier Feliciano Miranda named First Team All-CSAC in the decathlon.  The men placed eighth at the CSAC Outdoor Championships and the women grabbed fifth.  Jacki D'Amico (800 m) and Tara Liska (pole vault) each earned Second Team All-CSAC distinction in their events.  The women's track & field program also earned the CSAC Team Academic Award.

Kershaw attended West Chester University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and minor in Nutrition. Upon graduating from West Chester, she earned her master’s degree from Cabrini College in Special Education. Kershaw is also a certified personal trainer through the Athletics and Fitness Association of America.

While attending West Chester University. Kershaw was a four-year member and three-year team captain of the women’s track & field team. During her senior year, Kershaw was the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference 400-meter champion, 200-meter runner-up, and NCAA Division II national qualifier. She was also named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-Academic All-District Team, 2006 “All-Academic” by the Board of National Collegiate Division II Track and Field Coaches Association, and 2006 Philadelphia Inquirer College Academic All-Star.
 
Prior to coaching with the Mighty Macs, Kershaw taught both health and physical education and special education with the Achievement House Charter School and Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School.

Kershaw currently resides in West Chester with her husband Tim, and two children, Tommy and Hannah.
