Dr. Keith Coleman begins his first season as the head men's tennis coach in 2017-18.
Dr. Coleman brings over 30 years of tennis coaching experience to the men’s tennis program. Most recently, he was the coach of the boy’s tennis team at the Westtown School last season, and prior to that, he served as the Director of Tennis at the Ocean City, Maryland Tennis Center for four years from 2010-14 and the Interim head professional/guest professional at Sea Colony Tennis Resort in Bethany Beach, Delaware.
He is a USPTA Certified Elite Professional since 2004 and owns Neuro-Dynamic Tennis which focuses on mental training for young tennis athletes.
He had separate stints as a tennis professional at Ocean City Tennis Center from 2005-09 and The Natick Racquet Club in Massachusetts from 2003-07. He had his longest tenure as a tennis professional serving as the assistant pro at the Bay Country Racket Club in Cambridge, Maryland from 1987-2010.
He was an accomplished player at Campbell University where he played first singles and doubles, and earned team MVP in the 1976-77 season. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in 1979 from Campbell before earning his Master’s degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky in 1982. While in Louisville, he was the head tennis professional at the Village Tennis Club for three years and the assistant tennis professional at the Louisville Indoor Racket Club for one year.
He went on to earn his doctorate from Andover Newton Theological School in Massachusetts in Psychology and Clinical Studies in 1990.
