Mike Wallace

Coach Wallace concluded his ninth season as head coach and 15th season overall with the Mighty Macs softball team in 2021. Wallace served as an assistant coach with the team for the six seasons before taking over the reins in 2013 working primarily with the pitchers and catchers and helping with fielding skills.

The Mighty Macs went 5-16 on the season in 2021, earning a ticket to the Atlantic East Conference playoffs for the 12th consecutive season. Coach Wallace mentored three First Team Atlantic East All-Conference players in Cat Knoll, Keani Hindle, and Paige Gerst. Gerst was also named to NFCA All-Region team while Hindle was named the Atlantic East Conference Female Scholar Athlete of the Year as well.

During a shortened 2020 season, the Mighty Macs were off to the best start in program history at 9-1. Immaculata ended the year on an eight-game winning streak in Myrtle Beach. The Macs led the Atlantic East with a .393 batting average and outscored it's opponents 75-18 through 10 games. Wallace saw Michaela Petito be named the Atlantic East Pitcher of the Week as she led the conference with a 4-0 record and a 0.81 ERA.

In 2019, Wallace helped the Macs in their first season of Atlantic East Conference play earn the second seed in the postseason tournament.  Overall, they went 26-11-2 with a 7-3 mark within the conference.  He also saw Keani Hindle named the Atlantic East Player of the Year, while two others earned First Team All-Atlantic East, and three were named Second Team All-Atlantic East.

In 2018, Wallace guided the Mighty Macs to their first ever conference championships with wins over Cedar Crest, Cabrini, Gwynedd Mercy, and Neumann.  The Mighty Macs went to their first ever NCAA Tournament at St. John Fisher and fell 4-0 to the hosts and dropped a 1-0 decision to Mt. St. Mary.  Overall, the Macs were 28-16 with a 17-5 mark in CSAC play.  Wallace guided Annemarie Bartow to her second CSAC Player of the Year honor and Emma Bischoff to the CSAC Rookie of the Year.

Wallace has guided the Mighty Macs to the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) postseason during all seven seasons, and Immaculata has reached championship weekend in six appearances.

In his first season at the helm, Wallace guided the Mighty Macs to the second seed in the CSAC Tournament with an 18-4 regular-season CSAC mark. The Mighty Macs had never been seeded higher than third in the conference postseason tournament before 2013. Immaculata finished the season with an overall record of 22-18.

The 2014 season was even more impressive as Immaculata posted a 24-11 overall and 19-3 CSAC mark to set program records for wins in a single season in both categories. The campaign began with a 9-2 victory over nationally-ranked Coe College (#21) during the spring break trip.

Immaculata was the fourth seed in the CSAC Tournament in 2015 with a 16-6 conference mark, and the Mighty Macs finished the season with a mark of 18-20.

Wallace coached both the CSAC's player and pitcher of the year in 2013 as Holly Schell copped player of the year honors and Meagan Fitzgerald was the league's pitcher of the year. Fitzgerald also became Wallace's first player to earn NFCA Third Team All-East Region honors. Additionally, Schell and Fitzgerald were lauded for their academic achievements as Capital One Academic All-District 4 Softball First Team members. Schell went on to be named Third Team Capital One Academic All-America Division III and to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team.

Wallace added to his major award winners in the conference during the 2014 season as Fitzgerald once again was named the CSAC Pitcher of the Year and Liz Biddle was honored as the CSAC Rookie of the Year. Fitzgerald was joined by Samantha Strickland on the Capital Once Academic All-District 4 Softball First Team, and Fitzgerald was later named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team.

The 2015 season again marked major awards from the CSAC as Annemarie Bartow was named the conference's rookie of the year, and she was a NFCA Second Team All-East Region pick.

During his tenture, Wallace has had six Immaculata players selected to the All-CSAC First Team, two picked All-CSAC Second Team and seven others honored on the honorable mention All-CSAC team.

Prior to his arrival at Immaculata, Wallace spent five years as an assistant coach at Archbishop Prendergast High School with Dolores Martino.

Overall, Wallace brings over 20 years of coaching experience working with youth groups, travel teams and high schools. In addition, he is active in pitching clinics at each of those levels.
