Abby Grillo of the Immaculata women’s basketball team is our Mighty Mac of the Week.
Grillo led all scorers with 26 points in Immaculata’s commanding 81-56 season-opening win over Moravian in her college debut. She jump started the Mighty Macs’ offense with a driving layup for her first collegiate basket, completing the three-point play at the foul line. Moments later, she buried a three-pointer to give Immaculata its first lead, 8-6, midway through the first quarter.
Grillo finished the game shooting 10-for-14 from the field (71%), including 3-for-6 from beyond the arc, while adding three rebounds, one block, and one steal in a complete performance.
Grillo and the Mighty Macs return to action on Saturday, November 14, when they travel to Ursinus for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
