Josh Crowding had a strong week for Immaculata as the sophomore catcher helped the Macs go 3-1 on the week and run their winning streak to a program record 15 wins in a row. On Tuesday afternoon against Cabrini, Crowding went 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and one run scored with a towering two-run home run to left in the first inning to start the Macs offense. On Friday afternoon in the first game of the Macs series with Gwynedd Mercy, Crowding drove in two runs via a walk (one of his two walks on the afternoon) and a sac fly while also scoring a pair of runs to help Immaculata defeat Gwynedd Mercy by a final of 16-8 and extend the winning streak to 15 in a row. In the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, Crowding was 1-for-3 at the plate with one run scored during the Macs sixth inning rally. In the final game of the weekend, Crowding was 3-for-5 with four RBI and one walk to help lead Immaculata past Gwynedd Mercy by a final of 15-7 to take the three-game series 2-1. Three of Crowding’s RBI on the afternoon came via a pair of doubles while his other RBI came on a sac fly to right during the seventh inning. Following this strong week of play, Crowding now leads the team in batting average at a blistering .435 while also leading the team in OPS (1.403) and RBI (29).
