Nelson Torres was honored as the Mighty Mac of the Week on Monday, January 21, after helping the Immaculata men's basketball team to a 2-1 record in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play last week. Torres averaged 16.7 points and 7.7 rebounds during the three games.
Torres carried the Mighty Macs to victory in their wins over Keystone (73-70) and Centenary (69-63).Torres led the team with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds in the victory against the Giants, and his put-back with 2.3 seconds remaining in the game gave the Mighty Macs a 71-70 lead and proved to be the game-winner.
He followed that performance with 17 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks in the team's win against Centenary.
