Box Score WAYNE, Pa. – Immaculata University's men's soccer squad traveled to William Paterson Wednesday night and dropped a 4-2 non-conference game.
Immaculata (2-5) took the early lead as
Kyle Jumalon capitalized when his shot was deflected into the goal off a slipping William Paterson defender for Jumalon's fourth goal of the season in the third minute of the game.
The Mighty Macs would hold the advantage until William Paterson got on the scoreboard in the 40th minute. The Pioneers goal came courtesy of penalty kick. William Paterson scored with just 1:09 left on the clock for a 2-1 lead at halftime.
The Pioneers (3-4-1) added insurance tallies just over two minutes apart in the 77th and 79th minute for a 4-1 edge.
Immaculata got one goal back in the 86th minute as
Gabe Dwyer tallied his first collegiate goal. Dwyer took the feed from
Joe Wier and buried it from 20 yards out.
Joe Lubonski made 13 saves in the game for the Mighty Macs.
Immaculata begins Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play on Saturday hosting Summit at 3:30 p.m.
