IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's tennis team won their fourth straight Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match in a row to move to 5-1 in the conference and 7-2 overall with a 9-0 victory over Notre Dame (4-3, 3-3 CSAC) on the road on Wednesday afternoon.
The Mighty Macs swept the doubles matches with three solid victories. Junior
Lauren Degnan and sophomore
Kelly Gross won 8-4 in the top position, senior
Kara Trowbridge and junior
Annaliese Kambouroglos also won 8-4 in the second spot, and junior
Jenna Fratterelli and freshman
Caitlin Savage won 8-3 in the third spot.
In singles, Degnan cruised in the first singles match with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph. Kambouroglos also made quick work in the fourth spot with a 6-4, 6-0 victory.
Trowbridge defeated her opponent in the third position 6-3, 6-2, and junior
Nicole Burley won a tough three set match with a 6-3, 4-6, 10-5 victory in the tiebreak.
Fratterelli won 8-0 in the fifth spot and Gross won 8-2 in the sixth spot.
The Mighty Macs will take on the defending CSAC champions, Gwynedd Mercy, on the road on Friday at 4 p.m.
