Men’s Lacrosse Holds Off Richard Stockton, 15-11

IMMACULATA, Pa.
– Immaculata University used a six-goal second quarter to run past Richard Stockton on Wednesday afternoon in men's lacrosse non-league action.

Immaculata evens its mark at 3-3 overall while Richard Stockton drops to a 1-5 mark.

Joey Shallow had five goals and two assists and Ben Tuscai registered two goals and five assists to lead Immaculata with seven points. Dante Tuscai recorded three goals and two assists, and Brendan Dinneen finished with two goals and one assist. Jordan Smith tallied two goals while Brett Macaulay scored one goal.

The Mighty Macs scored the first two goals of the contest, but the Ospreys tallied three goals during the final 5:46 of the first quarter to lead, 3-2, at the end of the first.

Immaculata outscored Richard Stockton, 6-1, during the second quarter, spurred by two three-goal runs. Shallow had two goals and one assist and D. Tuscai had one goal and two assists in the second quarter to get the offense going. The Mighty Macs took an 8-4 lead into halftime.

Richard Stockton wasted no time trimming into Immaculata's lead as the second half started. The Ospreys scored twice during the first three minutes to cut the Mighty Macs' edge to 8-6.

The Mighty Macs had another three-goal run to extend their advantage to 11-6, and were able to stay ahead the rest of the way.

Immaculata scored four insurance markers during the final quarter to keep pace with Richard Stockton's four goals. The Ospreys came within three goals (12-9) with 8:46 left in the contest. But, the Mighty Macs put together a three-goal run led by B. Tuscai's goal and two helpers and Dinneen's two goals.

Immaculata goalkeeper Jon Diodati made 13 saves in the win. Richard Stockton goalie Tim Wolcott stopped 14 shots.

The Ospreys were paced by Matt Bologno's five goals while David Soule had three goals.

Immaculata begins the Colonial States Athletic Conference portion of the schedule on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. hosting Neumann University at Draper Walsh Stadium.
