Box Score

IMMACULATA, Pa. – Immaculata's women's tennis squad picked up its third win of the fall with a 5-4 victory over visiting College of Notre Dame in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match Wednesday afternoon.

The Mighty Macs (3-7, 1-6 CSAC) put an end to a two-game slide with their win over the Gators (1-6, 1-4), registering Immaculata's first conference win of the season.

Immaculata won the third doubles competition by default and pulled out an easy 8-0 win at second doubles to take a 2-1 lead in the match, heading into singles play.

There, the Mighty Macs captured wins at fourth and fifth singles to clinch the victory. IU also won sixth singles by default. Kelsey Piliero was a straight-set, shutout winner at fourth singles, 6-0, 6-0 while Olivia Kauffman breezed to a 6-0, 6-1 win at fifth singles.

Notre Dame put a scare into the Mighty Macs with wins at the first three singles. However, Immaculata maintained its poise to capture the two wins necessary in the singles competition to earn the victory.

The women's tennis team will be back in action on Saturday when it hits the road to play Philadelphia Biblical University at 12 p.m.
