IMMACULATA, Pa.
– The Immaculata University field hockey team has solidified its schedule for the 2010 season. Having qualified for its conference tournament in each of the last two seasons, the Mighty Macs hope their 18-game regular-season slate readies them for a run deeper into the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs.

Immaculata will open the season with a night game against Widener on Wednesday, Sept. 1. It marks one of just three home appearances for the Mighty Macs during the month of September. Immaculata travels to Swarthmore on Saturday, Sept. 4, before returning back to Draper Walsh Stadium on Wednesday, Sept. 8 to take on Albright, a team the Mighty Macs defeated, 3-0, last year.

The Mighty Macs head back out on the road for a three-game stretch beginning in Bethlehem, Pa., against Moravian on Saturday, Sept. 11. Immaculata continues with a trip to Scranton on Thursday, Sept. 16 as the Mighty Macs face an unfamiliar opponent in the Royals. IU opens CSAC play on Saturday, Sept. 18 at Gwynedd-Mercy, a team that earned the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament a season ago.

Immaculata comes home for a one-game stint on Tuesday, Sept. 21 where it hosts 2009 CSAC Tournament champion Cabrini. The Mighty Macs then take to the road again for a four-game stretch crossing into the month of October.

Immaculata plays its third straight conference game at Rosemont on Saturday, Sept. 25. The Mighty Macs edged the Ravens, 2-1, in double overtime last season. Immaculata next faces two newer faces on its schedule in Goucher and Wilson. IU travels to Goucher on Wednesday, Sept. 29 and Wilson on Saturday, Oct. 2. It will be the first meeting between the Mighty Macs and Phoenix of Wilson since the 2006 campaign.

The Mighty Macs end their road trip against CSAC runner-up from last season, Neumann, on Tuesday, Oct. 5.

Having spent most of the beginning half of the season on the road, the Mighty Macs end the regular season playing six of their final seven contests in front of their home fans, including five games in a row. Immaculata kicks off the stretch of home games with its final three non-conference tilts of the season, beginning with DeSales on Thursday, Oct. 7, Wesley on Saturday, Oct. 12 and Arcadia on Wednesday, Oct. 13.

Immaculata continues CSAC play on Saturday, Oct. 16 with a key matchup against Marywood as the Pacers qualified for the 2009 CSAC Tournament, and defeated the Mighty Macs, 3-2, in the regular-season contest in Scranton, Pa.

Immaculata concludes its five-game homestand with Cedar Crest on Tuesday, Oct. 19. The Mighty Macs punched their ticket into the conference tournament last season with a 2-1 overtime victory against the Falcons.

The Mighty Macs' final regular-season road game has them traveling to La Plume, Pa. on Saturday, Oct. 23 to take on Keystone. The Giants finished the 2009 regular season with an undefeated 8-0 CSAC, but were knocked off in the CSAC semifinals by Neumann.

Immaculata closes out the regular season and will celebrate Senior Day with its final CSAC match against the College of Notre Dame on Tuesday, Oct. 26

The top six teams in the CSAC regular-season standings advance to the CSAC Tournament, which is set to begin with quarterfinal action on Sat., Oct. 30.
