Carol Mastrosante was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference's Softball Player of the Week, and freshman pitcher
Allison Zborowski was selected to the pitcher weekly honor roll on Monday, May 3.
Mastrosante and Zborowski were instrumental in Immaculata going 5-1 last week, and clinching the fifth seed in the CSAC Tournament.
Mastrosante batted .700, going 14-for-20, with three doubles and one home run. She also had 12 RBI and scored six runs. In the second game against Rosemont, Mastrosante was 6-for-6 with eight RBI, including a grand slam. In the series with Philadelphia Biblical, she was 5-for-7 with four RBI.
Zborowski went 3-0 in the circle for the Mighty Macs last week with a 1.24 ERA, allowing just three earned runs, during 17 innings. She struck out 11 and held opponents to a .214 batting average. She pitched a seven-inning complete game against Baptist Bible, allowing just one run on five hits, securing a playoff spot of Immaculata.
Fifth-seeded Immaculata travels to fourth-seeded Marywood for the quarterfinals of the CSAC Tournament on Wednesday, May 5. The Mighty Macs and Pacers will play a single game beginning at 4 p.m. with the winner advancing to the semifinals at Neumann on Friday.
