Hardy Captures CSAC Rookie Of The Year Honors

ASTON, Pa. - Immaculata University freshman first baseman Matt Hardy captured Colonial States Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year plaudits as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Hardy was the lone Mighty Mac honored in the CSAC postseason awards after leading Immaculata to a 12-25 record in its inaugural campaign. Keystone's Esteban Meletiche was voted the league's player of the year while Keystone head coach Jamie Shevchik was the coach of the year.

Hardy led Immaculata in hitting with a .352 batting average, rapping out 44 hits and scoring 36 runs. He legged out 15 doubles, one triple and belted six home runs. His 44 RBI ranked second in the CSAC while is 15 two-baggers tied for the conference lead. Hardy stole 18 bases to rank third in the CSAC as well.

Hardy hit safely in 14 of 18 league contests, including a season-best three-hit performance at Centenary, Philadelphia Biblical and Keystone. His five RBI against PBU was also a season high.

Brandon Seibert was also recognized by the CSAC, earning the sportsmanship award. Seibert played in 35 games for the Mighty Macs batting .301 with 31 hits and 22 RBI.
