Three Immaculata Teams Earn CSAC Team Academic Award

ASTON, Pa. - The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) released the recipients of the Fall 2015 Team Academic Awards on Thursday, and the Immaculata women's cross country, men's soccer and women's tennis teams each earned the distinction from the conference office. The award is given to the team in each sport whose student-athletes achieve the highest grade-point average during their season of competition.

This year, the women's cross country team tied with Marywood University with a team GPA of 3.58, and had 12 team members earn a spot on the Fall 2015 CSAC All-Academic Team. It is the first time the cross country squad has earned the CSAC Team Academic Award.

The men's soccer team topped the charts in the CSAC for the second-consecutive year with a GPA of 3.35, and the Mighty Macs also had 17 team members on the Fall 2015 CSAC All-Academic Team.

It was also the first time the women's tennis team has earned the CSAC Team Academic Award after compiling a GPA of 3.84 this past fall. Every member of the tennis team was listed on the Fall 2015 CSAC All-Academic Team.

Since the award's inception prior to the 2013-14 academic year, Immaculata has had 12 teams, including this fall, named CSAC Team Academic Award winners.

Previously, field hockey, men's soccer, women's soccer, and volleyball have earned the award in the fall. Immaculata's women's basketball team received the distinction last winter, and the baseball, women's lacrosse, and men's tennis (twice) have earned it in the spring.
