ASTON, Pa.- The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has named 576 student-athletes to the Fall 2015 CSAC All-Academic Team, and Immaculata University earned the second most members in the entire CSAC with 76. The CSAC All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a grade-point average of 3.20 or higher during their semester of competition, while using a full season of eligibilty as determined by the NCAA.
The men's soccer team led all teams on campus with 17 members named to the squad, followed closely by the women's soccer team with 15. Women's cross country (12), field hockey (11), volleyball (10), and men's cross country (3) all had great representation as well. The Immaculata women's tennis team had all eight team members named to the CSAC All-Academic Team. Women's tennis, women's cross country, and men's soccer all earned the CSAC Team Academic Award for the highest GPA within their sport.
"Each one of these student-athletes should be commended," said CSAC Commissioner Jennifer Dubow. "It is great to see that so many have excelled not only athletically, but also academically. These student-athletes truly demonstrate the NCAA Division-III philosophy of enjoying a full collegiate experience, and they more than deserve this recognition."
Marywood University led all institutions with 78 honorees, just ahead of Immaculata. Cabrini College (67), Gwynedd Mercy University (58), and Neumann University (52) rounded out the top-five.
