LEXINGTON, Ky. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced that Immaculata University's volleyball team was one of 684 teams to earn the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2013-14 academic year. It marks the fifth-straight year that the Mighty Macs have been honored with the award.
The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale.
Immaculata's academic success during the 2013 season was also demonstrated with 13 of its team members being selected to the CSAC Fall All-Academic Team.

Immaculata was one of 129 NCAA Division III women's volleyball programs to receive the honor this season, and one of an AVCA-record 684 teams overall. Immaculata was the only school from the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) to receive the AVCA Team Academic Award.
