Women's Basketball Play 4Kay Game Set For February 17

IMMACULATA, Pa. – On Monday, February 17, Immaculata University women's basketball will host Cairn University at 6 p.m. in the first game of a doubleheader in the annual "Play 4Kay" game to support breast cancer awareness and research.

Tickets to Monday's women's and men's doubleheader are $5, and all proceeds from the game will benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Donations for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund will also be taken at the door and throughout both the women's and men's games.

Anyone unable to attend the game who would like to join in the Mighty Macs' fundraising efforts can go online and make a donation. Donations to support Immaculata's women's basketball team can be made at www.play4kay.org/immaculatawbb.

All fans attending the game are encouraged to show their support for the Mighty Macs and help support breast cancer research by wearing pink.

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund, in partnership with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and the V Foundation, was founded in 2007 to raise money in the fight against women's cancers. The late Kay Yow, former North Carolina State University head women's basketball coach and a past-president of the WBCA, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987 and passed away on January 24, 2009 after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer.

Play 4Kay, which began in 2007, is an opportunity for a nation of coaches to raise breast cancer awareness and funds for research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.

The Mighty Macs' women's squad will be taking on Cairn at 6 p.m., followed by the Immaculata men's team against Rosemont at 8 p.m. It also marks Senior Night for both squads as they honor the contributions of their senior players before each game.
